Turners not only offer a much safer alternative for the
carers involved in transferring a patient from one seated
position to another but can also reduce the number of carers
required to conduct this procedure safely.

- "What physical strength must the patient have to
use a Patient Turner?".
A - "The patient must be able to weight-bear
for a short period".
Q - "Can a Patient Turner be used
to transport a patient as well as to effect a simple transfer?"
A - "No. The equipment is not suitable
for this. New adaptations are currently being developed
in Sweden for this purpose."
Q - "Can a patient turner be adjusted
for different heights of patients?"
A - "Yes, and adjustable padded knee
braces are also available".
