Sweden
has one of the oldest populations in Europe and has become
a world leader in the development of assistive technology
to aid the elderly and mobility-impaired. Faced with escalating
human and economic costs of hospitalisation, acute medicine
and rehabilitation, the Swedish approach has been to invest
heavily in a series of proactive, community health programmes
aimed at keeping people active, independent and living within
their home communities. A programme which typifies this
approach is the Fall Prevention initiative,
started in the 1970’s, which is based on the early
identification of the four-wheeled walker as the most cost-effective
fall prevention and rehabilitation aid available.
Nordic
Care Services Ltd (NCS) aims to offer the most
complete range and widest choice of Swedish, high-quality,
ergonomically-correct, four-wheeled rollators (walkers)
in the UK plus standing, turning and transfer aids for the
older generation and mobility impaired.
In
addition we stock a selective range of Swedish, high quality,
hygiene products, e.g. shower chairs/stools and supply Swedish
aids to daily living both to the public, NHS Trusts, Social
Services and to several UK health care companies.
