Hospital -
The Etac 'Clean' - December 2002
Thank you for allowing your commode to be included in the
above trial. Six commodes from different suppliers were
included in the trial, the results of which are briefly
summarised below.
The commodes were assessed by a variety of techniques including
measurement of the force required to initiate the movement
of a commode (with a person in situ) in a straight line,
the force required to turn a commode through 90º, postural
analysis, the perceived exertion experienced by the person
pushing the commode and the subjective opinions of the trial
participants.
The results are expressed as rankings with the best performing
commode being ranked as 1st and the worst of 6th.
